Riding in Sunshine

 Let the Sunshine In

THE SUN WAS OUT, SO WAS MY BIKE. I just had a really long and challenging week in the office this past week, since spa and retail therapy were not enough, I revert to my other favorite means of de-stressing -BIKING. Last weekend, New Yorkers have been blessed with a warm and sunny weekend. I was beyond stoked to take my Dutchi out for a ride. I have not ridden my bike the whole winter, it felt so great. It was the kind of happiness I felt when I rode my bike for the first time without training wheels. I just had the BEST time, it certainly was happiness on wheels.

QUALITY MEATS(QM), in my opinion, has lived up to it's name. After riding for half a day, I treated myself to a carnivorous dinner. To those who know me, it is not a top-secret that I enjoy meat. And I love a quality meat, simple yet flavorful. QM is an addition to the Smith & Wollensky family, it is a trendy restaurant inspired by NY Butcher shops. With it's upscale, innovative industrial design (AvroKO), QM is the place to go if you want an old-school flavor with a trendy and contemporary interpretation of a classic steakhouse.  The food was excellent and the service was polished. -Overall it was an amazing dining experience.

17-02-2014 PRESIDENT'S DAY. Had the privilege of spending a day at President Franklin D. Roosevelt's home in Hyde Park, NY. I found the tour of the grounds and his home very interesting and informative. It was different from the grand houses of historical figures I have visited in the past, in such a way that it felt like a home to a man than an empty palace for a president. If you happen to be near the area, I would consider stopping by. -It is truly an American History gem.

Brunch du Dimanche

Mademoiselle
(l'intersection de la 23e avec Broadway)

SUNDAY BRUNCH.  The best thing about weekends is sleeping in and going out for brunch. Since I have a guest in town,  we re-visited one of my favorite boulangeries (bakery) in New York City, Maison Kayser. As a feinschmecker, I love this place because brunch here offers simple yet good quality meals. I was craving for something sweet and salty at the same time, so I ordered two different types of Tartines (open face sandwich) and French Onion Soup for appetizer.

Sunday Brunch at Maison Kayser
Flatiron location: 921 Broadway New York, NY
(other locations: Upper East Side and Columbus Circle)

  Smoked Salmon and Sausage Tartine

It was 10 degrees Celsius at ten in the morning when my friends and I spontaneously decided to take a trip to Atlantic City.  It was a perfect Winter day to enjoy the boardwalk and to have slots of fun.
